Terms of Service

Squezr is a free, browser-based toolset for compressing images and analysing file integrity. It is operated as an independent project. By using the site you agree to these terms.

Squezr provides the following tools, all of which run entirely in your browser:

• Compressor: compress JPEG, PNG, and WebP images to a target file size, individually or in batches.
• Hash-Morph: append four random bytes to any file's end-of-file to produce a new SHA-256 fingerprint without altering content.
• PureHash: strip EXIF, IPTC, and XMP metadata from JPEG and PNG images and compare SHA-256, SHA-1, and MD5 hashes before and after.
• EchoDetect: compare two files using CTPH fuzzy hashing and SHA-256 fingerprints to detect structural similarity and binary identity.

All processing happens locally in your browser. No files are uploaded to our servers.

You agree not to use Squezr to:

• Process files that contain malware, exploits, or other malicious content with intent to exploit the processing pipeline.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate the service in a way that harms availability for other users.
• Misrepresent the output of the tools (for example, falsely claiming that metadata has been fully stripped when further verification is required).
• Violate any applicable law, including copyright law with respect to files you process.

You are solely responsible for the files you process and any use you make of the output. We provide the tool; we have no visibility into or control over your files.

Squezr offers a paid Pro tier processed by Lemon Squeezy, who acts as Merchant of Record. By subscribing you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms of service.

• Billing: Pro plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected at checkout). Your card is charged automatically at the start of each billing period.
• Cancellation: you may cancel your Pro plan at any time from the Account page or via Lemon Squeezy's customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you retain Pro access until the end of the current paid period.
• Plan changes: upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately. Unused time is handled by Lemon Squeezy's proration rules.
• Payment data: we never see or store your card details. All payment information is held by Lemon Squeezy under their own security standards.

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on all Pro subscriptions, no questions asked. If you are not satisfied, request a refund within 7 days of your initial purchase or renewal date and we will issue a full refund for that billing period.

• How to request: contact us at billing@squezr.com within 7 days of the charge. We will process the refund via Lemon Squeezy. Refunds typically appear within 5-10 business days depending on your bank.
• After 7 days: refunds are not available for the current billing period. You may still cancel to prevent future renewals.
• Abuse: we reserve the right to decline refund requests if we detect repeated subscription and refund cycles intended to circumvent payment.

Squezr is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the tools will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that compression or metadata removal will achieve any particular result. Always verify critical output independently, especially for privacy-sensitive use cases such as metadata purging before sharing files.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Squezr and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

For free users, our total liability for any claim shall not exceed zero, as the service is provided at no charge.

For Pro subscribers, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to Squezr in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

The Squezr name, logo, and site design are our property. Open-source libraries used in the tooling (such as fflate and spark-md5) are subject to their own licences. Your files remain entirely your own. We claim no rights over content you process.

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use of the service after a revision constitutes acceptance of the new terms. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest version.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
